The Genesis Story
From the Pharmaceutical Industry to the Ultimate Inside Pharmacy
Ignition! was dreamed up in 2015 and officially launched to the world in 2016 by our founder, TeeJay Dowe. But the real spark behind our global movement started much earlier, rooted in a massive personal and professional realisation.
TeeJay spent her early corporate life as a scientist and qualified pharmacist, driven by a single, simple goal: to help people feel better. But the deeper she got into the traditional healthcare system, the more she noticed a troubling pattern. The world was over-medicating and labelling young people rather than understanding what was actually driving their behaviour.
The scientific “Aha!” moment was profound:
I became an empowerment coach when I realised that every single human being has a much more powerful pharmacy on the inside than anything you can buy from the pharmaceutical industry. Why aren't we tapping into our own internal chemistry first?
As a scientist, TeeJay didn’t just want a nice theory—she demanded evidence. She needed to know exactly what was happening in the mind, the body, the nervous system, and the biochemistry when people encounter major life events.
By taking the absolute best of what she had learned over a decade in entrepreneurship, neurostrategies, NLP, and personality profiling, TeeJay developed a practical, evidence-based system.
She spent seven meticulous months in close consultation with frontline youth coaches to design the ultimate curriculum. Together, they built the unique travel metaphors, calibrated the algorithms for our personality quizzes, developed high-energy games, and structured custom playbooks aligned with individual learning preferences.
The results were undeniable. In flow, human learning rates soar by 230% and productivity is amplified by 500%.
Before releasing it to the public, the system was aggressively road-tested in real-world environments, empowering over 800 young people in South African schools, running small-group programmes across Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, integrating modules into intensive teen residential camps, and resolving deep-seated friction in private family practices.
